About

I love music. I have been a professional conductor, coach, accompanist, and pianist for over 25 years, currently conducting and playing keys on the road with The Phantom of the Opera National Tour, and previously working in regional theater and opera houses, conducting, teaching, and coaching. This new gig has allowed me time for another passion – committing pen to paper (or finger to computer keyboard, as it were), and putting down in ink the music that has been buzzing around in my head since I first started taking piano lessons in 1975.

I also love the internet. I started my first website in 2009. Originally it was just going to be another standard “this is my webpage” that all freelance artists need these days. But it morphed into a database of the amazing pianistic and musical resources that are available in my then hometown, Milwaukee, WI. I still maintain that site, JJPlays.com. We still get several gig requests a month, and it serves as a useful database for those looking for an accompanist in the Milwaukee ¬†and the southeast Wisconsin area.

My new site combines these two passions. I’m really proud of this body of work – the music and the websites. I am humbled by my colleagues that have encouraged me in all of these undertakings, and by their talent and acceptance.

Have a look around. Feel free to contact me directly about anything at all. If any of this music interests you, and you don’t want to go through the Amazon Pay/iTunes channels, I’ll personally fix you up with all that your cart can hold.
